11th Birthday Bash
It's that time of year again, when we celebrate our birthday! This year is our 11th anniversary, and we'll be celebrating in style (of course) with new beer releases, live music, food trucks and mini golf!

FOOD TRUCKS
Happy Schnitzel Food Truck will be serving from 12-3 pm.
Out of the Blue Wood-Fired Pizza will be serving from 3:30-7 pm.
MUSIC
We are beyond excited to have Dutch Handsome and the Ransoms play at the party from 4-7 pm in the beer garden.
Dutch Handsome and the Ransoms are a honky tonk, country swing band based in Whitehorse, made up of an all-star cast of Yukon musicians.
Fronted by Alex Johnston (formerly of the Midnight Suns) on vocals and acoustic guitar and backed by lead guitarists Sam Newman and/or Ryan McNally, the band features catchy fingerpicking and jumping solos. The rhythm section highlights Genesee Keevil on upright bass and Patrick Singh on drums.
Influenced by country and bluegrass greats like Bob Wills, Doc Watson, Buck Owens, and Ferlin Husky, Dutch Handsome and the Ransoms' music warms the spirit and fills the dance floor. They will be playing at the 2026 Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival, as well as playing numerous shows in Atlin, Carcross, Haines Junction and Whitehorse, including the 2026 Frostbite Music Festival.
Featuring the fabulously versatile vocals of Johnston, and the raw country bluegrass harmonies of Keevil, the band has been selling out local venues with its mix of old time cowboy blues and originals that are rich, heart-felt and varied. The music gets audiences toe-tapping and singing along, appealing to everyone from students to elders.
MINI GOLF
Frost and Flame Rentals will be setting up a 5-hole mini golf course for the day. Challenge your friends and family to a game or two!
BEER RELEASES
We are releasing two brand new beers on May 30th as well. One is a style we have never-before brewed at Winterlong and the other a new take on one of our favourite styles.
STREETS OF SIMA Irish Red Ale (5% ABV)
Looking back through our old homebrew recipe books we used to brew an Irish Red Ale on the regular. It's a surprise to us that we never took one on before at Winterlong. Known for their easy drinkability and toasty malty character, Irish Red Ales are an easy crowd pleaser. Brewed with 5 different specialty malts, including biscuit, amber, light chocolate, caramelized malt, and roasted barley all from our friends at Red Shed Malting. It's lightly hopped just enough to balance out any malt sweetness. It's dry and very drinkable and will be on tap, on nitro, and in cans to go during the birthday shindig.
The can label features a staredown between a lynx and a snowshoe hare, the later of which had a banner year, at least in the Mount Sima area!
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE Hazy IPA (7% ABV)
Of course we can't have a birthday release without some kind of IPA in the line up. For this Hazy IPA we used some different hopping techniques than our typical hazies to really boost the smooth, soft mouthfeel and juicy hop character. We hopped this brew with Nectaron and Riwaka, two hops from New Zealand, featuring bold tropical and stone fruit notes along with a zesty citrus aroma and flavour.
The label artwork features a hummingbird feeding near Emerlad Lake. DYK that we have only two hummingbird species in the Yukon?! Rufous is the more common with Anna's being a little more rare. Both are only seen in the southern Yukon, going only as far north as Lake Laberge. Wear something brightly coloured on your next outting and see if you can attract any attention!
